PLMJ Network on the shortlist for the Chambers Africa Awards 2018

PLMJ Network has been shortlisted for the Chambers Africa Awards 2018 in the category 'Lusophone Africa Law Firm of the Year', with a focus on GLA (Angola) and TTA (Mozambique) for their work, among others, in the categories of Corporate, M&A, Employment, Commercial Contracts, Tax, Regulatory and Foreign Investment and Foreign Exchange.

This recognition comes in the wake of the legal support PLMJ Network has been providing in a number of countries to important clients from a wide range of sectors. PLMJ Network has advised clients involved in leading, structural projects in the African market, including the planning and development of a new brewery for Heineken in Mozambique.

The award winners will be announced on 8 February at an event that recognises the best work done by law firms in the African markets in 2017.

For Bruno Xavier de Pina, the partner who heads the PLMJ Angola Desk, "this nomination for the 'Lusophone Africa Law Firm of the Year' award at the Chambers Africa Awards 2018 reflects the quality of the work our offices in Africa, particularly in Angola and Mozambique, have done over the years in assisting our clients. It is undoubtedly a great source of motivation, not only for the lawyers in these teams, but for the whole of PLMJ Network, and it stems from the trust PLMJ's clients place in us and in the services we provide".

Miguel Spinola, the partner who heads the PLMJ Mozambique Desk, says "it is a source of great satisfaction and pride to see recognition for the work we have been doing in PLMJ Network on major projects in the African market from an event with the credibility of the Chambers Africa Awards 2018. This recognition of our growth and standing in these markets, and of the quality of our services, inspires us to work even harder and even better in continuing to focus on the potential of these markets and to support our clients in their investments".

PLMJ Network was an award winner in 2017 and is nominated for the fifth consecutive year in the African Legal Awards. TTA is being recognised for its work in the areas of Transportation and M&A, and GLA in the area of Property and Construction. The African Legal Awards are organised by the leading British publication Legal Week and by the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa, and the awards recognise the work of large international firms and leading independent firms in Africa.
