Amiel Janja Honored by the University of Macau
Amiel Janja, Lawyer Associate at TTA and recent graduate with a Master's degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau, achieved remarkable academic recognition at the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau, with his Master's thesis being awarded the prize for best dissertation written in Portuguese.
The distinction was awarded within the framework of the Henrique de Senna Fernandes Academic Prize for the Best Portuguese Thesis.
The dissertation, developed in the field of arbitration, is titled "The good faith of the parties in the arbitration process and its implications: a study in light of the Macau Arbitration Law". Amiel Janja's work analyzes the conduct that may constitute bad faith in the arbitration context, as well as its legal consequences. Although his work focuses on the Macanese legal system, the study incorporates a comparative approach with the solutions adopted in Portugal and Mozambique, which reinforces its depth and academic value.
Beyond its theoretical relevance, the study stands out for the practical utility it offers to arbitrators, jurists, and scholars of arbitration, by proposing reflections and concrete solutions on the impacts of procedural bad faith in arbitration proceedings.
TTA is proud of the commitment, dedication, and merit demonstrated by its Associate Lawyer, congratulating him on this remarkable and well-deserved achievement in his academic and professional development.
