GLM - Gabinete Legal Moçambique, a member PLMJ International Legal Network, organised a conference on arbitration in partnership with the Mozambique Bar Association which took place in Maputo on 15 and 16 August under the title "The Challenges of Arbitration in Mozambique ".The event featured the presence of the vice-president of the Bar Association, Delfim de Deus Júnior, together with a large group of legal professionals as well as representatives from major Mozambican and international companies.
The speakers at the conference included leading Mozambican and international lawyers and specialists in the area of arbitration including José Miguel Júdice, PLMJ partner and coordinator of the firm's arbitration practice and Tomás Timbane, international partner at GLM - Gabinete Legal Moçambique. The conference also featured José Manuel Caldeira, managing partner at Sal and Caldeira Advogados as a speaker, together with Mário Ussene, general director or the Centre for Arbitration, Conciliation and Mediation (CACM) and president of the Employment Arbitration Mediation Committee (COMAL), and Stayleir Marroquim, partner at the law firm Marroquim, Nkutumula, Macia & Associados.
